Fine American Renaissance/Roccoco Revival parlor table ca. 1850

This rectangular 4 sided serpentine marble top table ca. 1860 combine elements of both the Renaissance and Rococco revivals, the dominant influences in American furniture design of the mid Victorian era. The fine walnut and burreled veneers of the frieze are an indication of the quality and the craftsmanship is worthy of attribution to some of the finer N.Y.C. shops of the period. 36" wide by 28" deep and 30" high it is an ideal foyer or hall table and could be used as the focal point of many different rooms. Unfortunatley it came to us with a not so old poor finish and so it has been recently French polished.
